Specialty Chemicals
Edgewater Capital has been acquiring specialty chemical companies since 1999, and we understand the unique and complex characteristics of this industry. Edgewater has been able to overcome difficult transaction risks that are common to specialty chemical producers, including environmental issues, customer concentrations, raw material risks (both pricing volatility and scarcity) and regulatory concerns. Acquiring specialty chemical companies requires a keen knowledge of the industry, risks, participants, technologies and customer dynamics. Few, if any, private equity groups have developed such a deep understanding of this industry, and moreover, even fewer focus on this industry in the lower-end of the middle-market.
